During my time at High Point University, one of the first research papers I ever wrote was about media bias and what it means. Since researching to diving into the deep end of the journalism world, finding reliable sources can be tricky in my opinion.
#1 BBC News
One of the sources I use the most is BBC news because it's typically written from a perspective outside of the typical news network within the United States. The BBC can be less spun one way or another because the BBC does not benefit from any political beliefs within the United States. Additionally, The BBC writers are not as opinionized as usual because it is from the third party perspective.
#2 Google
My second source of information is Google News because it is typically where a lot of different sources come together. It is easier to devise what is going on because you can get information from all different sources in one place, typically the news is also catered to topics that are important to you such as politics, or even your favorite tv shows and books.#3 Instagram
The third source of information is from Instagram. Instagram is usually the place I first hear about big news stories which then leads me to do my own research on the story online. Because so many of us spend so much time on social media, it can typically be a good place to hear information first because of how fast it can spread.
#4 Fox News
#5 CNN
My last source of news and information, similar to Fox News is CNN. CNN is not my first choice of news, the same as Fox News, but the convenience factor of the large network news is beneficial for a variety of stories and finding information quickly. Typically CNN is very fast with news stories as well.
